Pilot course – Communicating the initial information with cancer patient

An encounter that changed my life – Communicating the initial information with cancer patient in a multi-professional collaboration

The multi-professional course was implemented in May 2021 in cooperation with Laurea University of Applied Sciences, the Faculty of Medicine, University of Helsinki, HUS Comprehensive Cancer Center and FICAN South. Both nursing and medical students participated in the course.
The course has been approved as an optional course in both the degree programs of the University of Helsinki’s Faculty of Medicine and Laurea University of Applied Sciences in 2022.
